HFWA’s third annual wildlife festival boasts the theme “Bear Country” to promote “Island Park is Bear Country,” a public education program in partnership with Involved Property Owners of Island Park and Bear Aware Island Park that seeks to improve safer bear attractant storage among Island Park residents and visitors.

Displays and activities are provided by participating conservation organizations and agencies. Here are just a few of the activities to look forward to:

• Test your bear-spray skills against IDF&G’s charging mechanical bear

• Join Harriman State Park naturalists on a nature walk every hour

• First visitors can receive a free bear spray with proof of hunting or fishing license

• Enjoy outdoor games and kids coloring activities
